Since 25 August, over 741,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh, over 1 million Rohingya refugees are living in Coxs’s Bazar-Ukhia-Teknaf area in Bangladesh, of whom more than half are children. There is a dearth of understanding about displaced children’s lived experiences in temporary settlements and children’s voices are rarely sought in the design of their educational and built environment. The objectives of this project are to gain an understanding of children’s experiences of places in the refugee settlement through a series of workshops with children and other stakeholders in order to improve their well-being through transformation of their built environment.
